Project Manager, Rising Edge Engineering

Rising Edge Engineering (a Division of Cimarron Engineering Ltd.) is an Alberta-based High Voltage Electrical Engineering company that specializes in substation engineering. Professional services include project consulting and management, design engineering, and procurement of materials associated with electrical facilities.

 

To support the rapid growth of the company, Rising Edge Engineering is currently looking for experienced Project Managers. As a senior member of our team, the successful candidate will work as part of an engineering/design team to deliver projects for clients in the utility, power generation and oil and gas industries. The Project Manager should possess a broad range of expertise in high voltage substation facilities, specifically in the Electric Utility Industry.

 

This is a full-time position located in Calgary, Alberta.

 

Responsibilities

  • Project management, technical direction, and execution of high-voltage electrical engineering scope for assigned projects including transmission, substations, generation facility grid connections, distribution/collector systems, etc.
  • Coordination of third party design, construction, and other project services
  • Project budgeting, and quotations/proposals
  • Monitoring of project controls and associated reporting
  • Client interfacing for project issues and project reporting
  • Schedule development, tracking, and maintenance, including key milestones
  • Completion of all project deliverables on schedule and on budget
  • Project set-up and close-out as appropriate
  • Coordination of adequate design and drafting resources for project execution
  • Implementation of corporate procedures and quality and safety standards
  • Coordinate responses to field construction queries
  • Manage the purchasing groups coordination of project material/equipment and the procurement/purchasing activities to ensure successful delivery of project requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum ten (10) years of direct related experience; high voltage utility experience is required
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to resolve technical issues
  • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Work well in a team environment
