Project Engineers

Purpose of Role:

Oversee and direct the execution of mechanical/civil engineering scope for pipeline projects they are assigned to.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate the preparation, review and approval of final pipeline project engineering design reports
Oversee the review of mechanical equipment technical bid submissions
Oversee the development of construction contracts and the tender/analysis/award process
Report to the Project Manager on budget and schedule for engineering tasks
Direct and coordinate the project pipeline engineering team for the execution of the design of projects
Provide direction to the project mechanical/pipeline project team
Coordinate activities of the pipeline/project team with other project disciplines
Oversee and mentor junior pipeline engineering and other technical staff
Ensure compliance with project plan and procedures
Reinforce corporate quality and safety standards
Oversee the implementation of corporate quality and safety standards into the projects
Oversee and coordinate the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations when required

Qualifications:

Candidates must be able to work for any Canadian employer (resident of Canada or current, transferable work visa)
Lead engineering design executions role in projects with capital expenditures in excess of $10MM
15-20 years of pipeline and associated facilities design experience
5-10 years of consulting engineering experience
Work in the downstream oil and gas industry, particularly in Western Canada
Supervision of 5-10 other engineering staff/project teams
Extensive experience with pipeline system design, construction and federal/provincial regulatory jurisdictions
